Unprocessed Realities x Yatzer.
Part of the VERDANT EDITION exclusively made for @yatzer and  @yatzerlab . A restricted colour palette of green and black reflected the collection’s theme but it's also a nod to Yatzerlab’s brand identity.

Most of the most beautiful flowers we can meet in nature right now are mutants.Throughout history, people have encountered, admired, and been mystified by mutant flowers. The Greek philosopher Theophrastus described double flowers in roses over 2000 years ago.We now know that garden flowers like double flowers like roses, peonies, geraniums, marigolds and carnations (and many more) are genetic mutants. The extra petals are actually mutated sex organs. Mutation in nature can result from errors in DNA replication during cell division, exposure to mutagens or a viral infection, but also from natural selection of the species in order to survive. 

The vase carries the forms of genetically mutated flowers. Symbolically we 'mutated' the forms that we are used to admire and observe as beautiful. 
The vase is an ode to the errors. Errors in nature, in our lives, in society, in us. Errors that if we let them happen, they can create beauty.
